Yesterday, I got a chance to pick up some of my adoption papers from my parents. I brought them home and looked them over with Ryan, it was really nice to read them together and share this journey with him. He's incredibly supportive with this entire process. He talked to my parents asking questions about my adoption and ciizenship and whatnot. It's nice that he's so on board with things and wants to know everything and wants to be there and help in any way. Even when I rant on and on, he just smiles and tells me everythings going to be ok.
I was adopted through Luthern Social Services, the phone number on my paperwork is disconnected and the building address is now an apartment complex. Luthern Social Services is still around, so I found the one in Milwaukee and emailed them asking if they help adoptees locate family members, or if they know of anyone who does. I have yet to get an email back. I guess all I can do is wait now.
I found some information of where I was in Korea. I have a lot of research to do ahead of me. It's so hard with everyone with the last name of Kim, and mulitiple people with the same first name.
I'm excited to finally start my research. I know I have a lot of work to do, but it'll be worth it.
